Garden Delights

Love this fresh white and green garden story full of gorgeous styling ideas. The white, vintage enamelled jugs look so quaint full of hand picked garden flowers. I love the idea of giving a pot of herbs wrapped in country gingham and tied with a piece of lace or ribbon. Terracotta pots can easily be given a fresh makeover with a coat of paint and nothing looks prettier than than an outdoor table setting decorating with fresh herbs or garden blooms.

My wishlist for the perfect country kitchen is simple - white doors with a simple moulded profile, carrara bianco marble benchtops, a white tiled splashback, a coloured Smeg retro fridge (preferably in pink) and a big old country farmhouse style table with vintage chairs. I would add a splash of colour to the accessories and I love the idea of painted, coloured kitchen chairs. I would spend all day in my beautiful kitchen baking scones and making cups of tea!

Sweet Indulgences

Life is full of sweet indulgences, for me some of the simplest are the sweetest :-
an afternoon cup of Twinnings English Breakfast tea,
a long hot soak after a day in the garden
perfumed bath oil
a bunch of flowers
something pretty to wear
freshly baked scones
homemade dessert.

Country Style Tea Party

It's Sunday and I'm feeling inspired to put on an afternoon tea and have a few friends over because everyone loves nothing more than chilling out on Sunday, especially if it involves something good to eat straight out of the oven! So at the slightest mention of afternoon tea my friends are over in a flash because they just know there will be a buttery cinnamon teacake, scones with lashings of jam and cream and a batch of iced cupcakes to tempt them!
Hope you have a lovely, relaxing Sunday!

Field of Dreams

This weekend, if the weather stays fine and sunny, I think I'll pack a picnic basket full of homemade tasty treats and head to the hills for a day in the country. Chicken sandwiches, mini quiches and savoury muffins are always a big hit with everyone! Fortunately, we are surrounded by National Parks on three sides and an ocean on the other so we don't have too far to drive before we hit pristine rainforest and rolling green pastures nestled in the valleys. It's lush and green all year round and full of pretty picnic spots.

Down The Garden Path

I am looking to forward to a bit of pottering in the garden on the weekend, making the most of the warm weather and sunshine. Then on Sunday when the weeds are gone, the edges tidied and the lawns mown we can sit outside and enjoy it. A perfect opportunity to laze around with a good book or invite the family over for afternoon tea in the garden!

A Weekend In Provence

Wednesday, January 25, 2012 0 comments

Here's a little mid week escape - I could happily be here right now, bathed in sunshine and warmth, sitting in a scented garden filled with lavender and rambling roses. Lunch would be alfresco :- crusty bread, olives, local cheese and thinly sliced prosciutto served with a class of sparkling Prosecco. Could anything be more perfect?

Perfect Blooms in White

I just love flowers ... any type ... any colour, but I probably end up picking white more than any other colour. White daisies look fresh and simple, white lilies look elegant and stylish and white roses look sweet and romantic. Camellias, gardenias, tulips and peonies all look perfect in white! What's your favourite coloured flower?
