Kids Corner
Monday, February 6, 2012 Posted by BLODOX at 1:43 PM 0 commentsHere are some great fun spaces for kids - they all have a vintage element to them which gives them character and personality. Notice the absence of brightly coloured, plastic toys in all of these spaces. As a designer, I much prefer old fashioned toys like rocking horses, wooden dolls cots, soft toys and kids timber furniture to decorate kids' rooms. I think it creates a calmer space and a sense of history for kids to grow up with.
Afternoon Tea In Aqua
Saturday, February 4, 2012 Posted by BLODOX at 1:52 PM 0 commentsToday I'm having the in-laws for afternoon tea so I am loving this fresh yellow and aqua afternoon tea inspiration. They just love coming over here because I always go to quite a bit of effort, usually spending the morning baking in the kitchen. I drag out my favourite recipes and we spend the afternoon hoeing into scones with jam and cream, dainty chicken sanwiches and an iced butter cake. The kids are in heaven!

Bathroom Bliss
Posted by BLODOX at 3:32 AM 0 commentsFor me, a bathroom should be a haven of luxury - a place to unwind and pamper oneself. An oasis of calm and tranquility to refresh, rejuvenate and re-energise. There is nothing more relaxing than a long, hot shower at the end of the day. The weekends, however, are a different story, this is when I put some time aside for a long and luxurious bath, filled with scented bath oils or my favourite bubble bath. If I am feeling in a romantic mood I light some candles and pour myself a glass of champagne and watch my troubles disappear!

Pretty Garden Florals
Thursday, February 2, 2012 Posted by BLODOX at 2:42 PM 0 commentsBeing married to a landscape architect I have a great appreciation of gardens and outdoor spaces. One thing I have learnt along the way - is that no matter how small your space is - there is always potential to create something beautiful. I have seen tiny courtyards and barren backyards transformed into a lush oasis of calm and tranquility. I have watched neglected decks turn into inviting places to while away a sunny afternoon. All it takes is a little bit of imagination, some hard work and a wheelbarrow full of plants!

fresh green and white for decorating
horses in the paddock
a cute white cottage with wooden shutters
kids and dogs running free
beautiful white linens
a rambling cottage garden
quality family time.
