Gardening Style

I have upped the anti in the gardening fashion stakes and bought myself a new pair of gumboots. Now don't get too excited I am not talking Hunter, Burberry or Chanel all of which I would love to own but couldn't possibly justify the cost. However, I did buy a colourful floral pair from Bunnings that are very chic and stylish for a bit of backyard gardening!

Sweet Indulgences

Life is full of sweet indulgences, for me some of the simplest are the sweetest :-

an afternoon cup of Twinnings English Breakfast tea,

a long hot soak after a day in the garden

perfumed bath oil

a bunch of flowers

something pretty to wear

freshly baked scones

homemade dessert.

Field of Dreams

 

This weekend, if the weather stays fine and sunny, I think I'll pack a picnic basket full of homemade tasty treats and head to the hills for a day in the country. Chicken sandwiches, mini quiches and savoury muffins are always a big hit with everyone! Fortunately, we are surrounded by National Parks on three sides and an ocean on the other so we don't have too far to drive before we hit pristine rainforest and rolling green pastures nestled in the valleys. It's lush and green all year round and full of pretty picnic spots.

A Weekend In Provence

Here's a little mid week escape - I could happily be here right now, bathed in sunshine and warmth, sitting in a scented garden filled with lavender and rambling roses. Lunch would be alfresco :- crusty bread, olives, local cheese and thinly sliced prosciutto served with a class of sparkling Prosecco. Could anything be more perfect?

Sunlit Days

 

There's something magical about sunny days in the country where the morning sunlight streams through the windows, the grass glistens as the sun hits the morning dew drops and fields of flowers positively glow in shades of gold!

Butterfly Dreaming

These last few days my garden has been a mass of the prettiest tiny white butterflies dancing all over the flowers. It was a very romantic vision until someone told me they are in fact cabbage moths and will strip my garden bare if I'm not careful! With this influx of pesky little moths I have also seen lots of the beautiful Monarch butterflies on my daily walk. To see seven or eight on these beautiful  orange, yellow and black winged creatures sitting on a single branch is a heavenly sight. I fancy myself in a long floaty dress skipping around with a butterfly net catching these pretty things but somehow I doubt if I'll find the time!

Lazy Daze

Some days it's just nice to not do anything. I love nothing more than relaxing at home with cups of tea in bed, piles of good mags, fresh flowers in the house and the sun streaming in through the windows. These are my simple luxuries in life - a weekend without chores and plenty of 'me' time. I could easily spend the whole day lazing around in my Calvin Klein lounge pants curled up in a comfy chair getting lost in a good book. If I am feeling very adventurous, then I may even have afternoon tea at a local cafe where they make the best homemade carrot cake!

Sensational Spring

 

 

 

I am loving this warm, sunny Spring weather

It just makes me want to get outdoors and

run, skip and play.

I am excited by getting back into the garden and 
giving it a bit of a tidy up this weekend
so I can do a bit of outdoor entertaining.
