I'm loving this pretty pink inspiration.

Today I'm dreaming of :-
frosted cupcakes and home grown roses
dainty macarons and pink lemonade
pink accessories and feminine touches
strawberries and polka dots.
Have a great day!

Golden Days

Now that Autumn has set in, it's time to think about :-

lighting the fire on chilly nights
baking an apple pie
making some homemade pumpkin soup and
going for walks in the park to hear the leaves crunch underfoot.

Stay cosy this weekend!

Afternoon Tea In Aqua

Saturday, February 4, 2012 0 comments

Today I'm having the in-laws for afternoon tea so I am loving this fresh yellow and aqua afternoon tea inspiration. They just love coming over here because I always go to quite a bit of effort, usually spending the morning baking in the kitchen. I drag out my favourite recipes and we spend the afternoon hoeing into scones with jam and cream, dainty chicken sanwiches and an iced butter cake. The kids are in heaven!

Sweet Indulgences

Sunday, January 29, 2012 0 comments

Life is full of sweet indulgences, for me some of the simplest are the sweetest :-
an afternoon cup of Twinnings English Breakfast tea,
a long hot soak after a day in the garden
perfumed bath oil
a bunch of flowers
something pretty to wear
freshly baked scones
homemade dessert.

Country Style Tea Party

Saturday, January 28, 2012 0 comments

It's Sunday and I'm feeling inspired to put on an afternoon tea and have a few friends over because everyone loves nothing more than chilling out on Sunday, especially if it involves something good to eat straight out of the oven! So at the slightest mention of afternoon tea my friends are over in a flash because they just know there will be a buttery cinnamon teacake, scones with lashings of jam and cream and a batch of iced cupcakes to tempt them!
Hope you have a lovely, relaxing Sunday!

By Gone Days

Here's a little vintage inspiration that brings back happy memories of my grandmother. She had some many fabulous curiosities that made every visit an adventure as I rummaged through wardrobes, dresser drawers and under beds in search of treaures to play with.

The things I loved about my grandmas' house :-
freshly baked cakes
tea served in china teacups
silver teapots with knitted cosies
vintage hat boxes
gold compacts and strands of pearls
wrought iron beds
garden roses in crystal vases.

Berry Ripe

Tuesday, December 27, 2011 0 comments

One of the best things about summer is the fact that berries are in season, I love them all but strawberries, raspberries and blueberries are my favourites. Stunning layered on top of a pavlova and dusted in icing sugar, heavenly on their own with a scoop of vanilla ice-cream, delicious when sprinkled on breakfast pancakes or cereal and perfect as a garnish! How do you like your berries?

Candy Cane Ice-Cream

Tuesday, December 13, 2011 0 comments

Now here's a great idea for the kids on Christmas day, especially if you have kids like me who don't like Christmas pudding soaked in brandy! If you don't have an ice-cream maker then this will be the perfect recipe for you. I am going to cheat and use softened store bought ice-cream then swirl chopped up candy cane through it before refreezing. I am going to scoop individual balls into Chinese soup spoons with crushed cane sprinkled on top. Sounds easy enough and the kids will love it! For the recipe check out this fabulous blog 'Call Me Cupcake'

Christmas Gift Ideas

Here are some gorgeous gift ideas for classmates, teachers, neighbours and friends where something sweet, beautifully presented and inexpensive will do the trick nicely. You don't have to spend a fortune if you put a bit of extra thought into the presentation. Hunt around your local party shop, newsagency and homewares store for fun, clever packaging ideas, look for cellophane bags, small jars and take away boxes. Colourful ribbons and a cute gift tag will add the finishing touch!
